240,000+ Players Watch Pro Video Gamers
It was revealed today that more than 240,000 people watched pro-video game players compete in the Major League Gaming.
Major League Gaming introduces six Pro Circuit tournaments every year, which are available to watch via streaming. Judging by the figures, it appears that this seasons figures were the biggest ever for the event. According to MLG, more people watched their streams then tuned into major cable networks during the event, which is pretty impressive, considering how popular mainstream television normally is.
In terms of hours, more than 3.6 million hours of video were watched during the weekend of the championship. Perhaps this is the start of something much bigger for eSports? We shall see.
