My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 6 - Disneyland!

It was super busy at Disneyland today. We booked a Monday, thinking that most people will be back at work, and it might be a little quieter. Well, big mistake that ended up being! Little did we know that it was actually a national holiday it was absolutely heaving with visitors.

This meant that the queues for most rides were ridiculous, and we didn't get to ride on as much as we thought we would. However, it was a warm, sunny day, and there was still plenty to experience. Disneyland really is a pretty happy place to be in (if you take away the massive queues).

Rides we went on:
Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expedition - you sit in a boat, and a guide talks you through the sights and animatronic animals encountered through a jungle as you go. Sadly, it was entirely in Japanese so we didn't understand what the lady was saying, but it was still a pretty relaxing, enjoyable boat trip!

The Haunted Mansion - this had been turned into The Nightmare Before Christmas' Holiday Nightmare for Halloween, and I loved it! The animatronics were brilliant, and although some of the original ride had been preserved (with little subtle add-ons), the majority had been entirely redecorated. All of the ghosts, skeletons and other characters sang 'Kidnap the Santy Claws' throughout.

Snow White's Adventures - incredibly short! You sit in a mine cart, and it takes you through the story of Snow White. The visuals were great, but this lasted less than a minute, which was a shame.

Pooh's Hunny Hunt - we queued for ages for this one, but it was worth it. You sit in honey pots, as you're transported through the pages of AA Milne's classic stories. It was super-cute, and the Heffalumps and Woozles section was by far the best part!

Pirates of the Caribbean - a classic Disneyland ride, which has been updated to include improved animatronics, Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa.

Star Tours - this was one of my favourites of the day. You're seated in airplane seats, and C3PO takes you on a fast and crazy fly across space. You really do feel like you're moving at breakneck speed.

Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek - in this ride, you use your torches to uncover any hiding monsters. We actually ended up with one of the top scores at the end, and got pulled aside for a special congratulations! I loved this ride.

Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin - this was brilliant! It was pretty crazy, and nailed the Roger Rabbit film perfectly. Also, as I feel that film is underrated, it was nice for it to get some representation in Tokyo Disneyland's Toon Town.

We also managed to catch two different parades - a stunning night-time electric light parade, and the Halloween-themed parade, ate several flavours of popcorn (popcorn is pretty popular here!), and ate an amazing scallop burger in a pumpkin shaped bun. Oh, and the churros were so yummy. I miss them.

Round 2 at Disney Sea on Day 7!
