Writing Profile
I wrote for my University newspaper (The Rabbit) for 3 years before quitting to graduate, and now write for 8-Bit Girl, Pages & Panels, plenty of freelancing ventures (such as The Search Agency), and full time as a Fashion Copywriter for Zee & Co. I also write poetry and short stories occasionally for my deviantART page, and contribute consumer reviews to DooYoo and Ciao. I love my freelance work in particular, and am always on the lookout for more. Please get in touch if you are interested in hiring me!
I've been published in Pixel Nation Issue 1, and have previously written for the now disbanded Retro Kingdom (the posts for this are now up on 8-Bit Girl) and MCM BUZZ, Gaming Till Disconnected, Gamers Daily News, WhatCulture, The Sun, Suite 101 and many others.
If you would like me to write a post for your site, I'm willing to write for a fee! Please get in touch. I completed a diploma in Freelance Journalism back in April 2012, have experience covering press events and keeping to deadlines for all articles.

Other Gaming Ventures
I'm the Founder of the second largest Nintendo group on deviantART called NintyFans, and also the Co-Founder of a Resident Evil group called Umbrellas-Finest.
The Beginning of 8-Bit Girl...
8-Bit Girl launched in June 2011 with the aim to share my passion for gaming. It has since hosted a large number of interviews, features, news, reviews and much more. Since March 2013, 8-Bit Girl has been a little relaxed, due to my position as a full time copywriter, blogging elsewhere and continuing with my freelance work. From now on, it's a hub for sharing great game music, creativity, some small snippets of news and reviews. I hope to get some more interviews in soon!
I'm pleased to say that the numbers of people who are reading this blog are constantly increasing, so I'm sure 8-Bit Girl will be around for a long time yet!
Some of my favourite games include:
The Walking Dead (Telltale Games version), The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Tomb Raider, L.A. Noire, Lost Odyssey, Resident Evil, The Sims, Super Smash Bros. series, Mario Kart, Dragon Warrior Monsters, Fable I, II & III, Halo, Left 4 Dead, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, SSX Tricky, and oh, so many more.Age: 25

8-BIT Girl FAQ
What is 8-Bit Girl?
8-Bit Girl was set up by myself (Kayleigh Powis) in mid-June 2011. The aim is to provide game reviews, interviews and news and features from Nintendo and Xbox 360, Steam, PS3, PC, iPod Apps, game related movies and more.
From March 2013, 8-Bit Girl became less about the news pieces, and more about creativity features (art, music, crafts, etc), reviews and features. Occasionally, I post on news when something really interesting is reported, but you can find game news anywhere! I want to try and show you something new. :)
I've also created a blog which I hope people enjoy interacting on. Do not be afraid to comment!

When are new articles posted?
Since starting my full time Copywriter post in October 2012, alongside my usual freelancing work, I do not always get the time to post every day like I used to. However, I post whenever I can, so please keep checking back!
Why did you name it 8-Bit Girl?
As many gamers are aware, 8-Bit is a gaming term, referring to older games. Seeing as this is a gaming blog, it seemed to fit in with the theme. OK, so it's less about retro gaming nowadays, but I liked the name! Hope a lot of you are not disappointed. I'll try and get some more retro stuff in as often as I can.
What games do you be post about?
Anything really! I own a 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360, iPhone and laptop, but I'm open to write posts about any gaming system. I like to keep things varied.
Do you blog about anything else?
Apart from gaming? Yes! Head on down to Pages & Panels to see me blog about comics!
Who do you interview?
Anyone related to games in some way. This includes developers, artists, fan-artists, vloggers, bloggers, etc. In short: anyone who interests me.
