More Content Planned for 8-Bit Girl Soon!

As many of you will know by now, I've been incredibly busy as of late. Now that my move is over and I've got some time away from some of my freelance work for a short period, I can devote more time to getting 8-Bit Girl up and running again.

I am planning to post some more features (I love sharing unknown artists for one), Music Monday will be revived again, I'm sending off more requests for interviews, and I'll be doing a few more 'list' posts.

This is only a small section of what I have planned! I am also going to be featuring on a podcast shortly. Not my own though. I have thought about that, but I do not have the funds right now to buy the correct equipment for staging regular podcasts. The same goes for recording 'Let's Play' videos on YouTube, but then there are so many people who do that nowadays, do you really need to see mine?

I'm a little camera shy, so me presenting to the camera on YouTube for now is a no-no, but podcast? Sure. Sometime in the future, when I can get the right equipment!

So that's all for now. I look forward to posting more soon! Get entering my giveaway, readers!

Music Monday: Datadyne Central Infection (Perfect Dark)

Yes, Music Monday has returned! I'll be posting some excellent game music every Monday once again on 8-Bit Girl.

To kick things off, I've decided upon 'Datadyne Central Infection', from Perfect Dark. Originally released on the Nintendo 64 in 2000, Perfect Dark got the HD treatment for the Xbox 360 in 2010.

This track starts off slow, but gradually picks up the pace. In the game this is the perfect track for moments of quiet exploration followed immediately by an enemy encounter.

Have a listen below.

Music Monday: BattleBlock Theatre Music

It's been a while since I did Music Monday, which I intend to start up again from now!

Today's Music Monday track is a tune from BattleBlock Theatre, the latest game from The Behemoth, most known for their arcade game Castle Crashers. I purchased the game yesterday, and am having a lot of fun so far. The Behemoth's humour is continued in this title, along with the cute style and fun multi-player.

Check out the song below!

Music Monday: Assassin's Creed III Theme

I forgot to post yesterday's 'Music Monday' track, so here it is now.

Assassins Creed III-Main Theme.

The soundtrack for Assassin's Creed III is definitely worth a listen, with the Main Theme being a great starter track. Give it a listen below!

Music Monday: 'Take Us Back' (The Walking Dead)

'Take Us Back' by Alela Diane from The Walking Dead.

Without giving away any spoilers, this song plays in the credits, straight after witnessing the final part of the fifth and final episode, which definitely pulls on your heartstrings. I sat here blubbing away as the song was playing, as I am sure many of you did too!

Music Monday: Title Theme (Okami)

Well, we've almost reached the end of 2012, so this means it's also the final Music Monday feature of the year!

Over the past year I have shared music from a whole host of games. I've featured a variety of genres, remisied about my favourite gaming tracks and read your comments on my choices. It's been fun. I look forward to doing more in 2013!

So thw final Music Monday for 2012 is the "Title Theme" for Okami. Okami is a beautiful looking game, which boasts Zelda-like gameplay, a great story and art style. The music happens to be pretty good too!

Give the track a listen below, and as usual, let me know what you think in the comments section below!

Happy new year everyone. :)

Today's Music Monday track comes from Super Smash Bros. Melee.

I've always been a huge fan of the Smash Bros. series. They hold up as excellent fighting games, and I have always enjoyed collecting all the trophies. Here's one of the menu tracks for Melee.

Enjoy! Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Music Monday: Neon Night (Halo 3: ODST)

Today's Music Monday track comes from Halo 3: ODST

The Halo games have always had great soundtracks, and ODST was no exception. Give "Neon Night" a listen, it's a good one! As always, let me know what you think in the comments below.

Music Monday: Palette Town (Pokemon Red/Blue)

Today's Music Monday track comes from Pokemon Red/Blue.

Many Pokemon fans would agree that Pokemon Red/Blue were some of the best Pokemon games. They still hold up now, even though there have been several since!

The track I chose is "Palette Town", which I'm sure plenty of my readers will be familiar with (I seem to have a bit of a Pokemon fan-following). Enjoy!

Music Monday: Title Theme (Super Mario World)

Today's Music Monday track is a classic, which brings back a lot of good memories for me!

"Title Theme" from Super Mario World instantly reminds me of the days when I was playing this, and plenty of other SNes games with my Dad and brother. As I'm sure many of you agree, Super Mario World is a brilliant game which deserves to be classed as a classic.

Give the track a listen below!

Music Monday: The Netherworld (Folklore)

Today's Music Monday track comes from Folklore

Folklore is an action roleplaying game on the Playstation 3. Released in 2007, the game focuses on Ellen and Keats, two characters seek memories of the dead to unravel the mystery that the village of Doolin hides.

Music Monday: Pac-Man Fever

I thought it was about time we had a more humourous song in the Music Monday feature. Before this, each song has been a great instrumental piece, rarely with lyrics, and they've all been pretty serious. Well, that's changed for today.

Today I've featured "Pac-Man Fever" by Buckner and Garcia. The track was most recently featured in the overly tongue-in-cheek zombie slasher Lollipop Chainsaw. Give it a listen below, and let me know what you think in the comments section!

Music Monday: The Road of Trials (Journey)

Today's Music Monday track comes from Journey

"The Road of Trials", composed by Austin Wintory is a great piece which accompanies a critically well-recieved game. Actually, the whole soundtrack is worth listening to. Check it out in it's entirety on youtube!

Give it a listen below, and let me know what you think in the comments section!

Music Monday: The Ocean On His Shoulders (Bioshock)

Today's Music Monday track comes from Bioshock.

Ah, Bioshock. This was the first game I got when my parents treated me to an Xbox 360 on my 21st birthday. It's a brilliant game, I love the style, atmosphere, and story, but I'm such a wimp when it comes to tension/horror fuelled games, that I never fully made it to the end.

Yes, I probably am pathetic, but I happily watched my FiancĂ© play through it to completion instead. You think I'm bad with that...watch me on Amnesia, I'm awful! But still, I love a good creepy game, and will happily play one if it is multi-player...I just can't go through it solo! Oh, but one day...I'll complete this.

Anyway, I digress. This Bioshock track, "The Ocean On His Shoulders", is a great piano piece. I hope you all enjoy it.

Music Monday: Inside A House (Zelda)

Today's Music Monday track appears in several Zelda titles, although it has differed ever so slightly in some.

As many of you will know by now (I harp on about it enough!), I am a huge fan of the Zelda series. Link's Awakening started off my love of gaming, and I've been a dedicated fan ever since.

So, as I have before, here is a Music Monday feature dedicated to a Zelda track. Now I could have gone for one of my all-time favourites, but I thought I'd go for a different one this time. I hope you all enjoy "Inside A House." Let me know what you think in the comments!

Music Monday: Fable II Theme

Today's track comes is the title theme from Fable II.

I'm a big fan of Danny Elfman, composer for most of Tim Burton's films, amongst others. It's great to see him compose music for a video game...especially for a game that is in my favourite games list! (He composed this alongside Russell Shaw).

Check out the theme below. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Music Monday: Elm Street (Buy Mode #3) The Sims

Today's Music Monday track comes from The Sims.

I've always been a fan of The Sims games. Building houses is the best part of the game for me, and I've been known to get horribly addicted to playing it. This song, from the original Sims games, sticks in my head the most for some reason.

"Elm Street (Buy Mode #3)". Enjoy!
