Marvel Avengers Game Green-Lit

Ubisoft have announced that Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth will be released for the Wii U and Xbox 360 via it's Kinect sensor later this year.

Rumours surfaced after the company registered a domain, Avengersbattleforearth.com a few weeks ago, leading to speculation that the game was on it's way. It seems pretty obvious now, with The Avengers currently dominating the box office...

Avengers: Battle for Earth will take inspiration from the artwork in the Marvel comics, and is inspired by the "Secret Invasion" storyline. It'll feature 20 different characters, including the Avengers team, and other memorable super heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe.

This is what has been published on the website, which currently only likes back to a Ubisoft page dedicated to this title:

“We are excited to team up with Marvel Entertainment to bring some of the most iconic comic book characters from the Marvel line-up to life in motion-gaming,” said Tony Key, US senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “Fans of the Marvel universe and superhero games are going to love the extensive combinations of characters, motion-controlled moves and competitive gameplay.”
“For the last few years, Marvel has positioned itself to deliver the absolute best in entertainment, be it in film, animation, comics or games,”  said Andreea Enache-Thune, senior vice president of games and digital distribution at Marvel.  “Partnering with Ubisoft is a big part of that ongoing movement. We are confident that Ubisoft’s talent matches Marvel’s own commitment to making the Avengers: Battle for Earth the best in the motion-controlled gaming category.”

HeroClix No Longer a Marvel Exclusive

HeroClix Online is no longer a Marvel exclusive, as WhizKids introduced the first two DC Comics themed sets to the game on the 7th December.

HeroClix Online now has it's first set of physical to digital heroes in the Superman Fast Forces set. Packages of this set include codes that allow players to add virtual versions of Superman, Supergirl, Steel, Lex Luthor, Kryptonian, Renegade and Bizarro to their online game. However, players who do not want to own the retail package can download the characters straight into their game if they prefer.

The Blackest Night HeroClix set also gained a release on the 7th December, which features Green Lantern, Mera, Lex Luthor, Scarecrow, The Flash, The Atom and Wonder Woman into the game.

More information can be found from the HeroClix website
