NintyFans: Halloween Contest Now Live!

It's October, which means plenty of Halloween shenanigans are found around the internet.

My deviantART Nintendo group, NintyFans is currently holding a Halloween contest. The idea is to create a Halloween-themed piece of Nintendo art in any medium.

Plenty of fellow artists have come on board to kindly donate prizes for our first, second and third place winners, who will be announced on the 7th November 2013.

NintyFans Halloween Contest Winners (Art Feature)

My Nintendo deviantART group, NintyFans, held a Halloween contest throughout October. The contest closed on the 13th November, allowing me (the Founder) and our Co-Founder to judge the entries.

NintyFans Halloween Contest Announced

It's that time again, folks!

My Nintendo group which I founded over on deviantART (called NintyFans) is currently running a Halloween competition. 

The aim is to create a Nintendo themed Halloween art-piece. Any mediums are accepted (as long as they abide by the current group rules). 

Prizes include art pieces drawn by several deviants, art features and hopefully soon, even more. Normally these NintyFans contests gain a lot of great prizes in the end, so it is worth entering if you are a member of the group.

NintyFans: "Unlikely Alliances" Contest Details

I am the Founder of a Nintendo art group over on deviantART, which is currently boasting 5,000+ members (this rapidly grows every day too!).


Every other month or so NintyFans runs a competition where members must create an entry based on the chosen theme. Many prizes are always up for grabs, including deviantART points (which can be used to buy items in the dA store, amongst other things), free commissions from varied artists, features, handmade items, and much more.


May 2012 signalled the groups next competition.


The Aim
Entitled "Unlikely Alliances", the aim is to create an entry that shows your chosen alliance take down an unspeakable evil. It can be anything from the Nintendo universe...and perhaps the enemy in question is not normally considered a Nintendo antagonist! Members can create their own conflict, if they so wish.


Two or more Nintendo characters can be chosen for the entry, and d both do not necessarily have to be heroes either-again, perhaps a villain has decided to do some good for a change. 





The contest closes on the 29th June 2012, and will be judged by myself and the Co-Founder. For the full list of rules and prizes, check out the contest journal entry.

NintyFans Contest Winners Announced

The deviantART Nintendo fan group that I founded and continue to moderate (called NintyFans) recently held a contest for it's 5,000 members to participate in.


Entitled "8-Bit Heroes", the idea was to create a piece that showed the artists love of retro Nintendo games. In a way, it is to celebrate the importance, and continued love, of these retro classics.


We had several entries, but these three were chosen as the three winning entries, which you can check out below.

NintyFans '8-Bit Heroes' Contest Details Announced

My deviantART Nintendo art group, NintyFans is now running a competition on it's page for all our members to participate in.


The contest is called "8-Bit Heroes" and the aim is to create a piece of art that celebrates the retro days of Nintendo. This means fans of the older consoles, such as the Game Boy, Nes, SNES etc should have plenty to think about here!


For those who decide to enter this, you should try to create an entry that somehow celebrates/displays these retro days of Nintendo. We want you to give your favourite Nintendo character a retro theme, for example.


You can even give one of the more recent Nintendo games a retro overhaul. Eg. fancy seeing Girahim from Skyward Sword back in the old days of pixels and chiptune music? 


There are plenty of prizes up for grabs (although I would love more of you to donate prizes, so please get in touch if you're interested).

Kid Icarus Free for 3DS Users

Nintendo UK have announced that gamers who register two Nintendo 3DS games between November 1st and January 31st 2012 will be entitled to a free 3D download of Kid Icarus. Those who qualify for this promotion will also be entered into a prize draw to win one of 3,000 limited edition Mario themed Nintendo 3DS consoles. Great, huh?
