DAY TWO:

The Saddest Songs in Disney & Pixar Movies

Disney and Pixar are known for their emotional moments in film, and often these moments are connected by a song. Fresh off the heels of Coco's Best Original Song Oscar win for 'Remember Me', it got me thinking about the saddest songs in Disney and Pixar films, so join me as I count down what, in my opinion, are the saddest, sweetest musical moments.

'Remember Me': Coco

This song had me bawling my eyes out in the cinema. Remember Me crops up several times in Coco, but it's the final version sung by Miguel and his grandmother in the movie that got myself, and practically everyone else in the cinema, shedding a tear. 

Coco is a film that resonates with so many of us. It introduces children to the idea of love, loss, and the concept of death in such a heartwarming, appropriate way.

Throwback Thursday - Once a Disney kid, always a Disney kid

I love stumbling across old photos! Well, at least the ones where I don't seem to be sporting questionable fashion sense, or dodgy haircuts, anyway.

So, this Throwback Thursday's post, I thought I'd keep it short and simple, and share this photo of an 8 year old me, cosied up in my colourful Pocahontas bedsheets.

My Japan Haul!

So, now my Japan travel diaries are out of the way, I intended to upload a video where I shared everything I bought out in Japan.

Sadly, I had some technical difficulties with my phone, so the clips I recorded couldn't be salvaged as apparently they had errored. Great! So, here's a photo of my haul instead. I forgot to include my silk Koi bomber jacket into the photo (but you can see this below in a separate image), and two Tsum Tsums - a bumblebee Piglet, and a Sleeping Beauty one, but everything else is present!

Here's that bomber jacket I mentioned above. I bought this in Harajuku!

My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 7 - Disney Sea

Whilst yesterday was reserved for the Disneyland park, our second pass was to be used for a second day, this time at Disney Sea! Another very hot and sunny day, there wasn't half the amount of visitors at this park as there was the day before, so it felt a lot more relaxed this time around. To walk freely without being caught in a mass of people shuffling around the park was quite pleasant, and for that reason, I enjoyed Disney Sea slightly more (although I preferred the ride line-up in Disneyland).

My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 6 - Disneyland!

It was super busy at Disneyland today. We booked a Monday, thinking that most people will be back at work, and it might be a little quieter. Well, big mistake that ended up being! Little did we know that it was actually a national holiday day...so it was absolutely heaving with visitors.

This meant that the queues for most rides were ridiculous, and we didn't get to ride on as much as we thought we would. However, it was a warm, sunny day, and there was still plenty to experience. Disneyland really is a pretty happy place to be in (if you take away the massive queues).

On the 29th of October 2016, I cosplayed as Minnie Mouse for the London MCM Comic Con. I don't cosplay often, mainly because it takes up a considerable amount of time and money to get a costume sorted, but this time around I thought I'd get something ready!

My July 2016 Paris Trip

I uploaded these videos to my sister blog, Geek Mash a few months ago, but as 8-Bit Girl now incorporates everything I'm into, I thought I'd share them with you here, too! 

In July, myself and my Fiancé had a 4 day break to Paris. During this time, we did the usual touristy things (Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph, etc), but the highlight for me was our day at Disneyland Paris.

Epic Mickey 2 Gameplay Footage

The first of a series of gameplay videos for Disney's upcoming Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two has been released. 

In this video, Warren Spector talks about Mickey's use of paint and thinner in the game. Epic Mickey 2 sees Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit return to Wasteland, the world in which Epic Mickey was set. 

Check out the video below. Epic Mickey 2 is due to be released on the 18th November for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and 3DS. 

Disney Princesses Coming To LBP!

Disney's princesses will be coming to Little Big Planet in the form of costume packs, Playstation's blog has revealed.


Fans will be able to play as Belle, Aurora, Tiana, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Snow White and Ariel when the pack is released next month. Split into two packs, the first will be released this week, whilst the other will be released a week later. Check them out below!

New Video For Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

Disney Interactive have released a new trailer for Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. This behind the scenes trailer discusses developing the story behind Disney's upcoming Epic Mickey sequel. 


Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two sees Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit team up as they return to Wasteland once more. The game features brand new co-op play, a new storyline and new functions in gameplay. Check out the video below.


Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is due for a release on the 18th November for the PS3, Xbox 360, 3DS and Wii.

Kingdom Hearts 3D Trailer Released

Kingdom Hearts 3D is now available to purchase in Europe on the Nintendo 3DS, and Square Enix have released their official launch trailer.


Featuring a variety of Disney characters, Kingdom Hearts 3D also features fan favourite Sora and some brand new creatures.

Watch The Wreck-It Ralph Trailer!

Many of you have probably already seen this by now, but if you've got a spare few minutes, then definitely check out the trailer for Disney's Wreck-It Ralph. 


Wreck-It Ralph tells the story Ralph, a Donkey Kong style game character that gets fed up of playing through the same game for the past 30 years. Soon enough he is jumping through a number of games, and meeting plenty of familiar game faces along the way. 


Check out the trailer below. You'll notice several familiar characters, including Bowser from Super Mario, Zangief from Street Fighter, and Clyde from Pac-Man amongst others. There's also some witty nods towards characters, such as a Samus style space chick voiced by Glee's Jane Lynch. 


Wreck-It Ralph will be released on the 15th February 2013. 

Epic Mickey: The Power of Two Dev Video

Disney have released a new video for Epic Mickey: The Power of Two, which gives gamers a glimpse at the behind the scenes development of the game. 


Featuring creator Warren Spector, the video features new gameplay footage, concept art, a glimpse at some of the characters, and comments from some of the developers.

New Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion Screenshots

Official Nintendo Magazine UK have released new screenshots for Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion. The follow up to Castle of Illusion, this 3DS release will feature Mickey and a host of familiar Disney characters and settings, such as Tangled, Beauty and the Beast and Peter Pan.

The title utilises the 3DS' touch screen, where players will be able to create objects via the screen which will then be used in game. Power of Illusion, like Epic Mickey, is set in the Wasteland, a world filled with 80 years of forgotten Disney characters and theme park attractions. Mizrabel, the enemy from the previous Mega Drive game, is also making a return. The game also has similar graphics to the Castle of Illusion, so it fits in perfectly.

Epic Mickey 2 Wii Boxart Revealed

Disney have released the official European Wii box art for Epic Mickey: The Power of Two. It is not known whether the other console versions will be getting the same boxart for now. 


Epic Mickey 2 will be released at some point later this year in North America and Europe, although Disney have not announced the exact release date as of yet. More details are expected to be released at this June's E3. Watch this space!

Epic Mickey Wiimote and Nunchuck In The Making

These are the first two images released by Joystiq to confirm that custom controllers for Wii's upcoming Epic Mickey: The Power of Two are on their way.


Disney have previously released a Mickey themed remote and nunchuck to coincide with the release of Epic Mickey. This time around, a new version of Mickey's paintbrush (which he uses in the game) doubles as a nunchuck, whilst Oswald's remote device acts as an oddly shaped Wiimote. 


Both the nunchuck and wii mote will be released around the same time as Epic Mickey: The Power of Two sometime this Autumn. 

Kingdom Hearts 3D Is 35 Hours Long

Kingdom Hearts 3D for the Nintendo 3DS will take around 35 hours to complete according to producer Tetsuya Nomura. Speaking to Famitsu ahead of the games Japanese release later this month, Nomura also added that the game can last even longer than this if players breed their Dream Eaters by collecting items before raising them. 

Kingdom Hearts 3D will be getting a UK release sometime soon in 2012. Are you looking forward to it?
