LBP Karting Users Create Mario Kart Tracks

LittleBigPlanet Karting opened up a one month beta, where fans have been given the opportunity to create their own race tracks. It comes as no surprise then that several Mario Kart themed tracks have sprung up on the game.

Those on the beta will be able to try out tracks such as Rainbow Road, DK Mountain and Bowser's Castle. Check out a few of them via the video from Kotaku below.

Wii U To Get Achievements

Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed to Kotaku that the Wii U will have an achievement system.

Nintendo have previously added achievement systems to the Nintendo 3DS via the Mii Plaza. However, Reggie added that "Microsoft may require every game to have achievements, but that it not our philosophy."

So not every Wii U game will be gaining achievements...it's completely up to the developers to decide whether they include them or not.

George Washington Is In Bioshock Infinite?

George Washington is in Bioshock Infinite. As bizarre as that sounds, the first president of America has been turned into an evil robot which players will come up against during the game. These 'Heavy Hitters' are Bioshock Infinite's answer to the Big Daddy enemy which players encountered in Bioshock 1 and 2

Ken Levine, Bioshock Inifinite's Director, revealed a few more details to Kotaku about this gatling-gun robotic George Washington. Levine says that the 'Motorized Patriot's' job is to "sell people on the vision of Columbia."

Like everything in the Bioshock series, this does not go according to plan. The robot Washington soon becomes a gun-toting threat.

Bioshock Infinite will be released on the 16th October in North America and the 19th October in Europe.

Guild Wars 2 Hitting Consoles

Guild Wars 2 has been in the works for the PC for some time now, but it appears that console owners will not be left in the dark after-all.

According to a post on Kotaku, developers NCSoft have announced that they are "in the preparation stage" at this time in regards to the possibility of a console release. Whilst the company have not completely confirmed that Guild Wars 2 will be available on consoles, it's still seems to be quite a firm one.

The game is expected for a release at some point this year.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Sequel Announced

Many of us probably saw it coming, but Sega have now officially confirmed that a sequel for Sega & Sonic All-Stars Racing is now in the works.

Announced to Kotaku at the Toy Fair in New York, the sequel will be out at some point later this year. No further details have been confirmed as of yet, although it is likely it will see a release on the major consoles once again.

New characters and vehicles will be revealed later in the year, along with a name, which I'm betting will be something as simple as Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing 2

Dark Souls Coming to the PC?

It seems that people really do want Dark Souls to gain a PC release. Developers Namco Bandai hinted that if there was strong enough demand for a PC version, then the super-tough Dark Souls may get a PC release.

So fans went about launching a petition, which has gained an impressive 66,000 signatures in just one week-something which has definitely caught Namco Bandai's attention. Whilst a PC version may not be on the cards as of yet, the petition seems promising enough.

You can still sign the petition here

Experience the Agony of the Ancient Greeks

Pippin Barr, the video game researcher and artist, is back. He's built a series of flash games based on the gruesome tales found in Greek mythology. Players will be experiencing the agony of Tantalus, Prometheus and others.

Now, here comes the harsh part. The games involve rapidly pressing two keys to perform a task that they will never succeed, such as Prometheus who writhes in agony as the player desperately tries to shake off an eagle pecking at his liver, or Sisyphus who cannot push a huge boulder up a hill.
There's no way to win or lose this game. In fact, the game regenerates every time your chosen Greek mythology character fails at their task. So, if you wish to keep letting Prometheus have his liver consumed by a hungry eagle, then go for it. So, the only way to end their suffering (and perhaps at this time, yours) is to exit the application altogether, or choose another hero to torture.

Kotaku originally reported on Barr's first bizarre project back in September, a performance exhibit which simulated ridiculous waiting times in line in real time.
