Company of Heroes Simulate Soviet Weather

THQ announced a few days ago that Company of Heroes 2 will feature weather simulating technology.

Harsh Soviet winters played a significant role in the Easter Front of World War II, which is now being realistically simulated in-game by Relic Entertainment and their new Essence Engine 3.0 and ColdTech system.

ColdTech reportedly includes an extreme cold mechanic that manages to accurately re-create the brutal -40 degrees temperatures that were experiences in 1941. The game has gone so far as to allow human skin to freeze, which would happen in reality if humans were trapped in these conditions.

Combining this with the Essence Engine allows players to melt off snow from objects, buildings and vehicles.

Company of Heroes is available for the PC in early 2013.

Metro: Last Night Live Action Short Released

THQ have released a new live action trailer for Metro: Last Night. The trailer takes us back before Metro 2033, and shows us Moscow Metro, the last refuge from atomic attack, above ground.

It's a great short film that really establishes the bleak tone that Metro: Last Night and it's predecessor, Metro 2033 carry. Give it a view below. Metro: Last Night will be released at some point in 2013.

Saints Row The Third Bloodsucker Pack Details

THQ may have only just released 'Gangstas In Space' for Saints Row The Third, but now fans should gear themselves for this weeks next instalment.

The 'Bloodsucker Pack' introduces vampires into the Saints Row universe. Saints Row The Third has already had shambling zombies in the main story, and intergalactic enemies in Gangstas in Space, so now it's time for a bit of bloodsucking action. Thankfully, they're not the shimmering kind either.

This latest DLC may not be as big as Gangstas in Space, but it allows players to suck the blood out of their victims to regain health, access to VIP bonuses for 25% cash boosts, hourly income of $2,500, 20% respect bonuses and the Scavenger ability.

Check out the trailer below for more details. The Bloodsucker Pack will be released on the 28th February for 160 MS points.

Darksiders II Dev Diary: Death Details

The development team at Vigil Games have come together in the Darksiders II Dev Diary to reveal some of the details from this upcoming game.

The video features a commentary from Creative Director Joe Madureira, Game Director Marvin Donald, Art Director Han Randhawa, General Manager David Adams, Lead Designer Haydon Dalton and Producer Ryan Stefanelli. It gives us a look at what makes Death a much deeper, interesting and exciting character than War in the previous Darksiders title. Those lending their voices to the commentary also discuss Death's weapons, what the combat is like, and much more.

It appears that Darksiders II is shaping up quite nicely. Check out the video below, and see if you agree.

South Park: The Game Screens

Obsidian, THQ and South Park Digital Studios have joined forces to release South Park: The Game. An RPG title, South Park: The Game has the shows creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone overseeing the game, whilst fans should expect to see a whole bunch of the shows characters, such as Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman, as well as Mr. Hankey, Timmy, Butters, and much more.

As shown in the screens below, South Park: The Game allows players to play as one of the shows memorable characters, and will feature RPG and hack n' slash style gameplay. I'm hoping that Manbearpig makes an appearance.

Darksiders II Trailer Released

THQ have released the trailer to the sequel for the excellent Darksiders, Darksiders II: Death Lives. The game is intended to become a Wii U launch game when Nintendo's next console is released in 2012.

The teaser trailer introduces the main character, Death, and plenty of great looking action. Awakened by the End of Days, Death, one of the Four Horsemen, embarks on a quest to restore mankind, and redeem his brother's (who you may remember as the predecessor's protagonist) name. Whilst an apocalypse is impending, Death discovers there is something lying deep within that is threatening all of creation.

Darksiders II follows on from it's predecessor, which followed the story of WAR, another of the Four Horsemen, who has been wrongfully accused of starting the apocalypse. Players guided WAR on a quest to restore his name, take revenge on those who wronged him and attempt to restore mankind. It was a great game, and Darksiders II definitely looks like it will be a promising release for the Wii U. We shall wait and see!

Darksiders II is also scheduled for a Summer 2012 release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Games for Windows

Saints Row The Third: Jet Surfing

There's another Cherished Memories trailer available Saints Row: The Third, and once again, it hints at how fun this game is going to be when fans get a hold of it on the 18th November.

The eighth Cherished Memory shows a character parachuting onto a jet, then attempting to balance on top of it as it barrel rolls across the Steelport skyline. It's another funny one, so I suggest you check it out below.

Saints Row The Third Community Creates 1 Million Characters

THQ and Volition announced today that the Saints Row: The Third community has created more than one million characters in the Saints Row Initiation Station.

The Initiation Station has been available to download for free on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Steam, and allows players to create their own character which they can share online, and use when Saints Row: The Third is released on the 18th November.

“The characters we’ve seen are mostly ridiculous, often hilarious, and always over-the-top. And now there are a million of them,” said Kevin Kraff, Vice President, Global Brand, THQ. “With the crazed creativity we’ve seen in only one week, we can’t wait to see what’s to come. One million is just the beginning.”

1.2 million people have played the Initiation Station so far, with many players opting to create a character in non-traditional colours such as green, red and silver. In this press release, THQ stated that currently 24 characters have been tagged by users as "God", although there are plenty of bizarre, wonderful and wacky characters available to view.

Bathrobed zombie attacking fun in Saints Row: The Third

The latest instalment into the "Cherished Memories" batch of trailers for Saints Row: The Third has been released. Once again, craziness is prominent here, and features a bathrobe-wearing guy defending himself from a zombie hoard. Oh, and he is using a huge dildo as his zombie destroying weapon. Did I mention that it's crazy? I think that may have just proved it.

Here's what THQ had to say about their latest trailer:

"Ah, Steelport, the ultimate escape. Home to sinners, and now, to the Saints. As the Third Street Saints wrestle control of this seedy metropolis from the Syndicate in Saints Row: The Third, we look back on our fondest moments here, from eliminating a gang of ornery, stun gun-toting senior citizens, to skydiving naked into a Syndicate pool party. Sweet, sweet memories.
In our seventh Cherished Memory from Steelport, we defend ourselves from the zombie hordes while wearing our favorite bathrobe. Enjoy!"

Saints Row: The Third Initiation Station Demo Now Available

With only a fortnight to go until Saints Row The Third is released, THQ has released the Initiation Station demo via Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.

The demo enables you to create your own character and/or share it on the Saints Row community. When the game is released, players can then download their creation, or others, into their game. Initiation Station not only shows off the games impressive, in-depth and rather funny character creation system (sex appeal slider, anyone?), but it also demonstrates the brand new, impressive graphics that the guys at THQ have adopted this time around.

Saints Row: The Third will be released on the 18th November 2011.

Saints Row The Third: Cherished Memories Trailer

Saints Row 2 was funny, but the more that is revealed about the next title, Saints Row The Third, the more it seems that it's going to be a damn-sight more hilarious.

Check out the latest trailer for the game, which features an energy drinks mascot being blasted into the air and juggled by continuous shots. Watch out for the dance at the end-it adds in a few last laughs!

Saints Row The Third: The Wild World of Genki

If you want even more proof that the latest Saints Row title is full of wild and wacky humour, then here it is, presented in the latest trailer-The Wild World of Genki.

Professor Genki's Super Ethical Realty Climax is Steelport's most popular game show, where contestants compete for prizes, or large sums of cash, whilst avoiding dismemberment, electrocution, and ultimately, death.

Think The Running Man meets Smash TV, and this is essentially what you'll be treated to here.

The game show's host, Professor Genki (a bizarre man to cat hybrid) is a crazy, and hilarious, addition to the game. Pre-orders for Saints Row The Third will be rewarded with a Professor Genki pack, which offers up a stunt suit skin, octopus gun, and a "man-a-pult." I'm sure you'll agree that the latter is pretty self explanatory.

So, bring on the 18th November. It'll be "fun time for the whole f****ing family."
