Anonymous Promises Vengeance on SONY

Anonymous are back to wage war against Sony. This time it's not about protecting hackers though, as Anonymous have released a video to display their disgust at Sony's support in SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act

The bill has drawn huge amounts of criticisms from a variety of internet experts, sites and more across America due to it's allowance of corporations censoring the internet. Websites will be forced to shut down over copyrighted content, which leaves plenty of sites at risk.

Anonymous have released a new video promising that Sony will be punished for their support of SOPA, as well as celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. No news on what their punishment would be as of yet though.

Anonymous previously publicly attacked Sony for it's lawsuit against hardware hacker Geohot. The Playstation Network went down soon after, although Anonymous was not actually implicated in this hack attack.

New Duke Nukem Forever DLC On It's Way

Duke Nukem Forever may have not been the hit that Gearbox and 2K were anticipating, but it appears that they have life left in this title yet. A new set of DLC is planned, which allows for additional single player campaign content, and new maps for the multi-player modes.

The DLC is entitled "The Doctor Who Cloned Me", and is set for a release on the Xbox 360 Marketplace and PSN at some point this week. The single player section of the DLC is set in the mysterious desert alien base, Area 51, where a doctor by the name of Dr. Proton  is contemplating an evil plan. Area 51 will pitch Duke against aliens, clones, robots and more as he once again has to save the world.

The DLC also brings new weapons, enemy types and bosses, and a few new achievements/trophies.

Three new multi-player maps are included to add a bit more variety to the online gameplay. These are the offices of Pooty Inc. (complete with aliens), an EDF command centre, and the Breston Nuclear Power Plant.

Duke Nukem Forever's "The Doctor Who Cloned Me" is estimated for a release later on this week. It shall be available for an estimated price of 800 Microsoft Points, and about $9.99 (about £6.40) on the Playstation Network

Xbox360achievements.org have a great selection of screen-caps to browse through, but here is one of them:

Hands On: Rayman Origins (Xbox 360)

A demo for Rayman Origins has landed on the Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network just ahead of it's 15th November release date. Having played the original Rayman games (which, if I am being honest, I was terrible at), I decided to download the demo on the Xbox 360 to see what this upcoming game has to offer.

Before I continue, I must confess that for some reason, it appears that I am awful at Rayman Origins also, but this did not dampen my enjoyment of the demo, which I went on to complete, after several deaths of course. The demo can be completed either alone, or with up to three other players. The game adopts a drop in-drop out formula, so all four players do not have to be tied into a level for it's entirety if they do not have the time to play it through.

In the demo, you will play three of the 60 levels in the game, which demonstrate the usual Rayman gameplay, as well as some excellent visual treats. The demo levels comprise of a jungle themed area, a food world, and one ocean world level. Rayman Origins features some bright, vibrant and rather gorgeous 2D visuals, which look brilliant in HD. The game retains the old-school side-scrolling platform format of the previous games in the series, and the Rayman feel is thankfully, still here. The demo is definitely a lot more enjoyable when played through with a friend. The demo was quite a tricky one at points, and having a friend jump in on the action helps make these tricky moments a tiny bit easier to deal with.

I found it impossible to play through this demo of Rayman Origins without a smile on my face. Not only did the gameplay make me hark back when I was jumping, gliding (and dying) through a variety of levels in the Playstation One Rayman days, but the cheerful 2D visuals and charming music also helped with this.

Reviews of Rayman Origins have been excellent so far, and the demo promises a highly enjoyable multi-player experience when the full game is released in under a weeks time. Grab the demo now and see what you think.

Saints Row The Third Community Creates 1 Million Characters

THQ and Volition announced today that the Saints Row: The Third community has created more than one million characters in the Saints Row Initiation Station.

The Initiation Station has been available to download for free on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Steam, and allows players to create their own character which they can share online, and use when Saints Row: The Third is released on the 18th November.

“The characters we’ve seen are mostly ridiculous, often hilarious, and always over-the-top. And now there are a million of them,” said Kevin Kraff, Vice President, Global Brand, THQ. “With the crazed creativity we’ve seen in only one week, we can’t wait to see what’s to come. One million is just the beginning.”

1.2 million people have played the Initiation Station so far, with many players opting to create a character in non-traditional colours such as green, red and silver. In this press release, THQ stated that currently 24 characters have been tagged by users as "God", although there are plenty of bizarre, wonderful and wacky characters available to view.

Saints Row: The Third Initiation Station Demo Now Available

With only a fortnight to go until Saints Row The Third is released, THQ has released the Initiation Station demo via Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.

The demo enables you to create your own character and/or share it on the Saints Row community. When the game is released, players can then download their creation, or others, into their game. Initiation Station not only shows off the games impressive, in-depth and rather funny character creation system (sex appeal slider, anyone?), but it also demonstrates the brand new, impressive graphics that the guys at THQ have adopted this time around.

Saints Row: The Third will be released on the 18th November 2011.

Black Knight Sword Trailer: Bizarre But Intriguing

Black Knight Sword is a collaboration between Suda 51's Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality. With Grasshopper Manufacture being previously responsible for the excellent No More Heroes series, and the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw, expectations were already quite high about this next venture.

Black Knight Sword combines a side-scrolling hack and slasher with plenty of bizarre enemies and quirky level designs. The officially released gameplay video shows the pop-up scenery and puppet-like characters animate on a curtained stage. This idea of playing through a what appears to be a puppet show is what makes the game so much more intriguing.

Suda 51 are known for their crazy games, and it although it may be too soon to fully judge this, it appears that Black Knight Sword will be adding to their long list of oddities.

Black Knight Sword will be released on the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network sometime in the winter of 2011. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
