My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 12 - Imperial Palace, and Shibuya

Our time in Kyoto was brief, we paid a flying visit to spend a day there yesterday, so day 12 was spent getting the bullet train back to Tokyo. 

I loved our traditional Japanese flat we stayed in the night before. Sleeping on flat rollout beds on the floor actually gave me such a good nights sleep, which I was surprised by. I'm a girl with a memory foam mattress at home, so I guess I just expected it was going to be a little too solid. We also enjoyed playing on the Nes in that room!

My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 7 - Disney Sea

Whilst yesterday was reserved for the Disneyland park, our second pass was to be used for a second day, this time at Disney Sea! Another very hot and sunny day, there wasn't half the amount of visitors at this park as there was the day before, so it felt a lot more relaxed this time around. To walk freely without being caught in a mass of people shuffling around the park was quite pleasant, and for that reason, I enjoyed Disney Sea slightly more (although I preferred the ride line-up in Disneyland).

My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 6 - Disneyland!

It was super busy at Disneyland today. We booked a Monday, thinking that most people will be back at work, and it might be a little quieter. Well, big mistake that ended up being! Little did we know that it was actually a national holiday day...so it was absolutely heaving with visitors.

This meant that the queues for most rides were ridiculous, and we didn't get to ride on as much as we thought we would. However, it was a warm, sunny day, and there was still plenty to experience. Disneyland really is a pretty happy place to be in (if you take away the massive queues). 

My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 5 - Shrines, and Crazy Robots

Today was a mixture of shrine visiting, and the craziness of Robot Restaurant. We got up early to grab breakfast (steamed dumpling from Family Mart - I got a bit addicted to them on our trip), and visited the Meiji and Senso-Ji-Ji temples. Whilst both were equally impressive and beautiful, we loved visiting the Senso-Ji temple the most. 

My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 3 - Shinjuku, Akihabara

Day 3 was just another example of just how diverse, yet pretty the landscapes of Japan are. We headed out in the morning to the Shinjuku Gyoen Park. This was about a 10-15 minute walk from our Air BnB, and didn't disappoint. This large park had an entrance fee of only £2 each, and housed traditional Japanese gardens, a traditional Japanese-style house, and plenty of gorgeous scenery.

My Japanese Honeymoon: Day 1 - Shinjuku

After a long 11 and a half hour flight, we grabbed a cab to our first Air Bnb of the trip, situated in Shinjuku, Tokyo. After taking a shower and a nap, we headed out for a wander around Shinjuku. 

Capcom Opening a Bar

Games publisher Capcom will be opening a bar in Tokyo's Shinjuku in the new year. 


It'll serve as a cultural and public relations section for the company, where they can host public and private events for their company. Oh, and expect plenty of food and drinks based on one of their many titles.


Simply named Capcom Bar, it'll open on the 25th January in Shinjuku's Pasela Resort. 

New Yakuza: Dead Souls Trailer

Sega have released a new video for their upcoming PS3 exclusive, Yakuza: Dead Souls (Yakuza of the End in Japan). 

Yakuza: Dead Souls pits players up against hoards of zombies in the red light district of Tokyo. Players will also get to face off against the sinister Japanese underworld and some powerful mutants. This upcoming Yakuza title features gunplay for the first time in the series.

Yakuza: Dead Souls is due for a March 2012 release. You can check out the trailer below.
