Miracle of Sound is back once again with an album full of songs written about games, TV programmes and films.
Composed and written entirely by Gavin Dunne who releases under his band name, Miracle of Sound, Level 3 features gaming tracks based on games such as Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2 and Assassins Creed III.
As with the previous two albums, Gav embraces and experiments with plenty of different genres to fit with the tone of the game, programme or film he is singing about. For instance, 'His Father's Son' resembles a sea shanty blended with Native American influences-exactly like the game itself.
Stand out tracks on the album include the newest release, Dream of the Sky, which is based on Bioshock Infinite, Breaking Down The Borders (Borderlands 2), The Savage Side of Me (Tomb Raider), The Best I Can (Telltale Games' The Walking Dead), and His Fathers Son (Assassins Creed III).
The non-gaming songs are just as great, with 'Halfman's Song', about Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones, is one of the best tracks on the album.
For me though, no Miracle of Sound album is complete without a tongue in cheek ditty, and thankfully, Level 3 delivers on this too. 'Wigglesticks' is a brief track mocking Resident Evil 6's over-reliance on Quick Time Events (I enjoyed that game, but come on, it was a little too much at times!), 'The Call of Duty Circus' explains the typical type of Call of Duty gamers you'll encounter whilst playing online, whilst 'Doorfighter' is based on the plethora of door opening sequences in Medal of Honour.
The Miracle of Sound: Level 3 album is available to buy as a digital downloaded copy via his Bandcamp page now.

Resident Evil 6: 14 Reasons Why It'll Be Great!
A friend of mine wrote a piece on WhatCulture completely blasting the Resident Evil 6 demo. Whilst he is entitled to his opinion (and I respect it), sorry Shaun, as you know, I had completely different feelings to you about what I was playing!
So, I have decided to compile a counter piece to his criticisms, not to have a "one up" on him, but rather just to show the other side of the argument. Resident Evil 6's demo seems to have been met with some mixed feedback since it was released publicly on the 18th September. Well, here's one person's opinion anyway.
1. "Bad Graphics"
I am not really sure why people are complaining that the graphics are so bad. For starters, the demo was condensed into an 800mb download, so the quality suffered a little. However, saying that, I still thought it looked rather impressive. Just wait until the actual game is out, we'll be able to play it at the resolution it was designed for!
2. "The Map Is Too Helpful"
The inclusion of pointers and an overly helpful map system does relieve the tension somewhat. Knowing that your objective is closer than you originally thought, for example. However, if you don't like being guided every step of the way, the map can be turned off! With it turned off, you will be left to find your own way, and it restores some of that exploration that the original games had. It just seems a little silly to criticise a feature that you do not even have to utilise if you don't want to.
3. "You Can Move While Shooting"
Whilst I agree that running and shooting is a little harder to master, fans have been calling for this option for ages now, hence why Capcom decided to include it. Plus, give it time...you'll grow to like it! Resident Evil Revelations also included moving and shooting, and I felt it enhanced the gameplay. However, if moving and shooting is not for you, you don't have to move! You are still able to shoot whilst standing!
4. "Lame Obstacles"
All Resident Evil games have included obstacles, even the most obvious ones that of course hinder you from accessing the next part of the level. It's just the way the games play out. Also, it is such a small aspect of the game to actually get worked up about, in my opinion.
5. "Clunky Triggers"
The complaint that hits were not registering on the zombie is a bizarre one. Personally, I found that I had no difficulty in shooting. Yes, zombies now, for the most part, take more than one hit to the head to go down, but in no way did I find it clunky or glitchy.
6. "Boring Objectives"
Yes, I agree with you that Chris' campaign was very reminscent of the gameplay in Call of Duty, but boring objectives? The El Gigante-esque fight seemed quite enjoyable to me. The sort of objectives we had to encounter in the demo are typical of the Resident Evil series. Yes, they can be quite predictable (fighting off zombies whilst waiting for assistance, for instance), but come on...shooting the zombies is still a lot of fun, right?
7. "Over-Generous Loot"
OK, in a way I sort of agree with you on this one. The new inventory system was a little tricky to master. It took me quite some time to work out how to combine herbs and use them, but once I figured it out, I actually started to prefer the new look. As for the abundance of herbs...yes, there was a ton, but part of me wonders if these were only in full flow for the sake of the demo? Plus, the full game will have difficulty options, so ammo and herbs should be much more sparse on a higher difficulty.
Also, your partner seems to be able to hold their own without any problems, which again, I feel will be different in the main game.
8. "Poor Mini Games"
We are only basing it on one example...when Leon has to start the police car at the end of his demo. Personally, I thought this was fine. It was a brief chunk of the game that was easy to complete and quite fun to watch. Part of me thinks the mini-games will be much like Resident Evil 4 and 5-spamming the action buttons as fast as you can to escape enemies.
9. "Zombies With Guns"
Zombies have had weapons since Resident Evil 4! Resident Evil 5 included gattling gun wielding Manjini too. In Chris' campaign, we can see that the situation has turned into an all-out war. BOW's have advanced, and are now able to shoot the opposition. These "J'avo" pose a greater threat then the zombies we saw in the original games, due to their ability to wield a gun, run and attack (except techincally...they're not zombies). In a series which has seen the virus evolve over time, it seems like the next logical step.
10. "Teammate Revival"
I can see your point with this one. I found that I was close to death on a few occasions, and each time my partner revived me. For someone like me, who admits that I'm not an amazing gamer at times, I sort of welcome this inclusion. However, for those "hardcore gamers", knowing that death is never going to be an option when a partner is in close proximity can take the fear factor and difficulty out it a little.
However, play it with a real-life team mate and perhaps this changes.
11. "Too Many Weapons"
Yes, Sherry has a ton of weapons in her and Jake's campaign. However, the argument that it cannot be possible for a woman with such a slight frame as Sherry should be able to wield all of these is a little silly. Look at the other action games. Lara Croft managed to fit a whole arsenal in her miniature brown backpack! At the end of the day...it's just a game.
12. "Hand To Hand Combat"
Personally, I felt that the hand to hand combat had improved somewhat. Kicking a zombie to the ground then stamping on it's head felt satisfying. The inclusion of powerful combat helps to knock back a horde when either a reload is needed, or you sense you're being way too surrounded.
13. "Camera and Controls"
Whilst I agree that at times the camera can get a little frustrating, on the other hand, once I had managed to get used to this new inventory system, I had no problem with the controls. Shooting felt OK, melee was easy to master and I was soon weapon changing, reloading, combining and using herbs without a problem.
14. "Inventory"
At the beginning, I have to admit I hated the inventory. I found it overly confusing, and it took me some time to actually work out how to even equip a herb to my HUD. However, give yourself a little time to work through the system, and at least in my opinion, it seemed to work after that. I have since played the demo through three times, and have to agree that the more it is used, the easier and clearer it becomes. Give it time!
In conclusion though, I think it is hard to agree on how good or bad this game will be until you are able to play the full version. The demo only gave us a brief glimpse, and perhaps for many, they weren't the best sections to choose. Whatever your opinion, wait until the main game is out, play through it then decide if the demo really reflects the overall experience.

Resident Evil 6: Demo Review
The Resident Evil series has undergone several transformations since it's beginning in 1996. Resident Evil 5 saw a shift in gameplay, adopting more of an action stance than the slow, tense gameplay of the previous titles. Resident Evil Revelations, a 3DS exclusive, introduced the original RE horror once more whilst still embracing this new action-heavy style, creating perhaps one of the best games in the series so far.
And now, we have Resident Evil 6. Due for release in November 2012, the game is split into three campaigns, all offering different experiences. Thankfully, the demo, which was released today on PS3 and Xbox 360, allows a taster of all three, making this essentially three demo's in one. Good stuff? Well, read on to find out!
Leon Kennedy's Campaign
Leon's demo takes place at Tall Oaks University. The opening cut scene shows Leon being confronted by the President...in zombie form. Hesitant to kill the President of the United States, his finger wavers on the trigger, but of course, we all know what he must do. After killing the President with a headshot, it's down to business.
This segment of Leon's campaign felt very much like an old Resident Evil setting. Zombies are how they used to be-slow, shambling and moaning. It's also incredibly un-relentless. The undead crowd around you constantly in hordes, and there is barely enough ammo to go around. Like the earlier Resident Evil games, ammo conservation is a neccessity here.
A new addition is the melee system, which helps to offer Leon and his partner Helena a chance to recover when ammo has depleted entirely, or a reload is in order. Knife kills are gory, satisfying and essential, especially as the ammo is quite sparse here. Like Resident Evil 5 before it, 6 will allow both players to share items together. This means that every time one of you picks up ammo, both of you will receive it. Also, online co-op is supported as well as offline, which I found out when a random player took over the NPC as Helena (sorry, I had to play as Leon first time round!) halfway through the demo.
The aim of this portion of the game is to simply escape the campus. Leon's campaign combines the traditional Resident Evil style tension with a few "on the rails" style sections (most notably when driving the police car).
Chris Redfield's Campaign
Chris' campaign appears to be completely different from Leon's. Set in a war zone in Eastern Europe, Chris and his team are tasked with taking down the virus ravaged enemies in a series of winding streets. You'll notice straight away that unlike Leon's campaign, Chris's is an all-out action assault. Adopting more of the action gameplay of Resident Evil 5 than the slow tension that of the previous titles like Leon's campaign appears to be, you'll be using plenty of ammo on a colossal B.O.W., as well as gun-wielding zombie enemies. Also, these are different enemy types this time, which helps to keep things refreshing.
Whilst Leon's campaign was incredibly low on ammo, Chris's one has plenty. It's quite enjoyable going from one extreme to the other, actually. This does mean that the suspense felt in Leon's campaign isn't really that present. When ammo is in full supply, and you've got a buddy playing through it co-op with you, the difficulty does not really show too much.
Jake Muller's Campaign
The third and final demo is Jake "Wesker Jr" Muller's campaign. Whilst Leon's had the traditional Resident Evil feel, and Chris's went for action, action and more action, Jake's feels like the middle ground.
In this demo, you are introduced to a new character, Wesker's son, whose blood contains the cure to the vastly spreading virus. Teaming up with Sherry Birkin, who fans may remember from Resident Evil 2, the duo are working on escaping a desolate city.
Like the other two campaigns, Jake's also features it's own enemy type. Grappling with g-virus style enemies, whilst battling tar-like creatures and pouncing beasts, the demo certainly keeps you on your toes. Jake also seems like he will be a pretty interesting character, so I am looking forward to finding out more in the full game.
My Favourite Demo?
Whilst I highly enjoyed the action in Chris' campaign, I'd definitely say that Leon Kennedy's demo was by far the most enjoyable. It packed the most suspense, and harks back to the earlier days of the series when the slow, shambling zombies were just as, or perhaps more than, creepy than those seen in recent instalments.
So there you have it, over 60 minutes of gameplay to try out! As a Resident Evil fan, I was bound to like at least a little aspect of it, and thankfully I was not disappointed. Whether you're looking for old Resi gameplay, or the new action heavy format, both are present here. It's worth downloading and playing all three just to get a taster of things to come.

'Agent Hunt Mode' Added to RE6
Resident Evil 6 will be getting a new mode to co-exist with the usual Mercenaries Mode.
'Agent Hunt Mode' allows you to play as an infected creature, with the aim being to take down one of the games heroes, such as Chris, Leon, etc.
The new mode will be unlocked once the story has been cleared. This is normally the case for Mercenaries too, but the Mercenaries Mode will be available immediately. Some of the stages from this will be able to be used in the Agent Hunt Mode.
Voice chat will be essential here, as each player will spawn into a stage as either a bio-organic weapon or a zombie, whilst one player will play as Chris, Leon, etc. When players enter the stage as one of the infected, the lone player will be alerted to their presence, but will not know which one is human-controlled, and which are NPCs.
Resident Evil 6, complete with both Mercenaries Mode and Agent Hunt Mode, will be released on the 2nd October 2012.

E3: Microsoft Conference Summary
So the Microsoft E3 conference is over for another year, but was it any good? Well, if I'm being honest, although there were several games that look fantastic, the huge focus on services and apps was a bit of a letdown. Even Trey and Matt, the creators of South Park, made a little dig at this!
I also Tweeted live throughout the stream. It was the most amount of Tweets I've ever sent out in a a two hour period! If you wish to see all my E3 tweets, then be sure to follow @8_BitGirl on Twitter.
The show opened with a rather glossy and action packed trailer for Halo 4. The trailer seamlessly blended into some gameplay footage, which showed off some new guns and enemy types. The visuals seem to have improved significantly since Bungie's final Halo offering, Halo Reach, whilst many fans will be pleased to welcome back Master Chief once more.
After some exciting and rather impressive Halo 4 footage, Splinter Cell: Blacklist was revealed. The visuals seem to have improved significantly since the previous Splinter Cell offering. The gameplay demo showed Sam pulling off some Assassin's Creed-esque moves and assassinations, which was a welcome change.
Microsoft then introduced Fifa 13 and Madden NFL 13, which have both been integrated with Kinect functionality. Joe Montana made an appearance to show off how Kinect can be used in Madden NFL 13. If you like swearing at the referee...then it looks like that may be a possibility in Fifa 13!
After this, the obligatory "game trailer with dubstep" section came along in the form of a trailer for Forza Horizon. Forza Horizon was confirmed as an open world racing title that appears to embrace street racing this time around.
A very brief but promising trailer for Gears of War: Judgement was shown, a game that takes place 14 years prior to the first Gears of War. It's nice to see Baird (definitely one of the best Gears characters) become the main focus of this upcoming title too.
Fable: The Journey showcased a flashy trailer which unfortunately lacked in actual gameplay footage. Instead we were shown a clips of the player prancing about in front of the Kinect more than anything, but the trailer did reveal that the game is getting a late 2012 release, probably in time for Christmas.
And now came the dull period of the whole conference-the services and apps section. Micorosoft placed a huge emphasis on the entertainment side of the Xbox 360 console, and it's Kinect functions more than games this year, and although it was new information, it didn't make it any less boring. First up the director of marketing talked about new services coming to the apps section of the dashboard. Now console owners will be able to download and watch services such as Nickelodeon, Mechinima, and Paramount. NHL and NBA services are also being expanded.
Xbox Music was a new service that was unveiled today. In a move that potentially sees us all kissing goodbye to Zune, Xbox Music will provide over 30 million music tracks, and will also work on Windows 8, tablets and phones.
Without allowing us to pause for breath, Microsoft hand it over to Nike, who promise that the Kinect is the "future of fitness." Nike Fitness Systems is another fitness style game which will attempt to shape up those looking to get fit. Whilst it looks like it could be quite a good workout, I don't think I agree with the Matthew McConaughey lookalike (aka the Nike presenter) stating that, "if you've got a body...you are an athlete." Not everyone is built to be one!
So, back to the services. Xbox SmartGlass is revealed, which allows for your entertainment experiences to be switched back and forth seamlessly between devices. The presentation showed Game of Thrones being viewed on the Xbox 360, whilst the viewer looked at a map on their tablet which showed the exact position in the Game of Thrones world this particular scene was on. Thankfully they didn't spoil any of Game of Thrones (I was worried...as he mentioned how good the season two finale was), as I know plenty of us wouldn't have been impressed!
Speaking of spoilers though, a pretty spoiler-heavy Prometheus clip was broadcasted during the Internet Explorer introduction. Yes, Internet Explorer is coming to the Xbox 360 shortly, allowing users to browse the internet from their consoles. The presenter also took this as an opportunity to show off the Bing search engine on the Xbox 360 and try out some Kinect voice-activation searching.
My attention dwindling (and judging by Twitter...many of yours too), I was itching for some more gameplay footage. Thankfully, we were back to some interesting stuff again when Tomb Raider, definitely one of my most anticipated games right now, was introduced. Poor Lara, like the trailers, the incredibly fluid gameplay footage showed her being more battered and bruised than ever before, and the action was reminiscent of the Uncharted series. We were shown Lara using her bow and arrows, falling from great heights and confronting plenty of enemies. The action looked amazing, whilst there is a definite cinematic and epic feel about the game. Tomb Raider looks refreshing, exciting and just what the long-running franchise needed.
After this, we were shown off some brief trailers for Ascend: New Gods, Lococycle and Matter, before XBLA title Wrecketeer was demoed on stage. Sporting some dodgy Scottish accented characters, Wrecketeer sees players using catapults to create devastation. In other words...Angry Birds for XBLA.
Noew another highly anticipated game took the stage when Capcom introduced some brand new footage of Resident Evil 6. Focusing on the Leon Kennedy section of the game, the gameplay demo showed Leon battling his way through a zombie infested city, flying a helicopter whilst shooting the undead, and a series exclusive...running AND shooting. The graphics are looking brilliant this time around, whilst there was some brilliant cinematic set-pieces shown off. Also, traditional zombies are making an appearance once again!
Resident Evil 6 is swiftly replaced by South Park: The Stick of Truth which was announced by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. True to form, the guys ditch the auto-que for a dig at Microsoft and their huge reliance on integrating technology, Kinect and entertainment features before they go on to talk about their upcoming game. South Park: The Stick of Truth features a "distinctly crappy South Park look" which will make players feel like they are playing an episode of the popular South Park series. You play as the New Kid, who is trying to make it as the 5th member of the gang. It looks set to be a hilarious game, with plenty of Trey and Matt humour, so keep an eye out for this one!
And rather predictably, Microsoft's conference is closed by Black Ops II. Sporting an action packed and rather impressive gameplay demo, unfortunately it seemed to go on for a bit too long...but perhaps by this point my brain was in information overload, what with all the talk about apps and services.
So there you have it. What did you think of Microsoft's E3 announcements? Voice your opinions in the comment section!
My Top 5 Games from Microsoft's E3 Conference:
Tomb Raider
Resident Evil 6
Halo 4
South Park: The Stick of Truth
Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Capcom's Resident Evil 6 Press Release
Resident Evil 6's trailer was released yesterday, which I posted and commented on last night. Details were pretty sparse at this point, but more have been revealed by Capcom, which I'm happy to share with all of you.
Capcom have sent around a press release, which I have included in it's entirety below. However, I can provide the short version.
Resident Evil 6 is set ten years after the Raccoon City incident, and the President has decided to reveal the truth behind what happened, in the hope that this will cease any bioterrorist activity. Unfortunately, things are not that simple. Leon Kennedy, the President's personal friend is forced to make a tough decision regarding the fate of the diseased President. At the same time, Chris Redfield is battling BOWs over in China, and soon we realise that no country is safe from the rapidly spreading outbreak.
The game will see Leon and Chris join forces to face the bio-terrorist threat. Also joining them will be a host of new characters, new surroundings and challenges.
Excited yet? Well, I've included the trailer once again at the end of the press release if that helps.

Resident Evil 6 Trailer Released
The first trailer for Resident Evil 6 has just been released, and it's epic. Packed full of action, and what appears to be a return to normal zombies, the trailer also shows a much more manlier, older and rugged looking Leon Kennedy, as well as a return of Resident Evil 5's much bulkier Chris Redfield.
The plot involves the killing of the President, and a whole new plague of zombies. Could this be a Leon and Chris partnership? Also, was that Ashley I heard in the trailer, or just some soundalike? I think it's time to give it another watch. You can do the same below.
Resident Evil 6 is released on the 20th November 2012.

Resident Evil 6 Release Date Leaked?
IGN have reported that a poster has emerged online showing what appears to be the official Resident Evil 6 logo and release date. Apparently, the game will be released on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on the 20th November 2012.
The poster will remain a rumour for now though, as Capcom have refused to comment on the poster when IGN prompted them on it. We'll just have to wait for more news.
